Kate Winslet

 

Kate Elizabeth Winslet (born 5 October 1975) is an English actress. Often regarded by film critics as one of the "preeminent actresses of her generation", she is known for her work in independent films, particularly period dramas, and usually portrays headstrong, complicated women. She is the recipient of numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, three British Academy Film Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and four Golden Globe Awards.
